Washington County residents who have completed post-secondary education within the last five years and are building a professional and personal life in Washington County are eligible to apply for student loan repayment awards of up to $5,000 from the Gracie Fund at the Maine Community Foundation (MaineCF). In exchange, recipients participate in volunteer activities while working in their preferred field.
The deadline for applications is July 15, 2016. Complete guidelines and application form are available through the Maine Community Foundation and the Sunrise County Economic Council (SCEC), which jointly administer the Gracie Fund. Visit www.mainecf.org or www.www.scecme.org/training/gracie-fund, or call 877-700-6800 (toll-free) for information.
“The Gracie Fund fosters community development by helping graduates connect to their county through a commitment to a career and to community service,” says MaineCF Scholarship Manager Cherie Galyean.
The SCEC helps participants make connections with area leaders and organizations through its Washington County Leadership Institute.
With offices in Ellsworth and Portland, the Maine Community Foundation works with donors and other partners to improve the quality of life for all Maine people. To learn more about the foundation, visit www.mainecf.org.
