Please join Beth Bordowitz from the Maine Retirement Investment Trust (MERIT) as we discuss this exciting new program available to assist small business owners and their employees in saving for retirement as well as other retirement options for self-employed individuals and their employees.
MERIT is a state-sponsored retirement savings program designed to ensure every Maine worker has the opportunity to build a secure financial future.
Launched earlier this year, MERIT is working to ensure that all Mainers have access to retirement at work by providing small businesses with a free program to provide retirement benefits to their employees. More information can be found at: https://meritsaves.org/
All Maine Employers with fifteen or more employees must register with MERIT or certify their exemption by April 30, 2024.
Employers with 5-14 employees must complete registration with MERIT by June 30, 2024.
