Our Mission<\/strong><\/p>

At SCEC we believe in and practice being proactive. The Council receives no dedicated state of federal subsidy for its critical work creating jobs Down East. Therefore the Opportunity Fund, SCEC\u2019s annual fundraising campaign, is an important and necessary component of our ability to strengthen this mission, to support and advance our region\u2019s economic activity. The recent economic downturn has increased demand for SCEC\u2019s programs and services, as well as our ability to advocate for and represent Washington County at the state and national level.<\/p>
